Hi. I’m Emma Estrada, an LA-bred & based writer & comedian. I work as a copywriter.
Sometimes I flail my body, and people call it dancing.
Here’s everything I stake my self-esteem on:
Recently published this essay in the LA Times. Another one is forthcoming in Hobart in Oct 2026.
Got my BA in English Lit (‘19) from UC Berkeley. Go Bears?
Made the classic move of going to clown school in France at École Philippe Gaulier. Got yelled at a lot. Yay.
Created the short film Ashes to Trashes with a 2k budget + desperation + 1 weekend.
Performed a sold-out run of my clown solo show, Emma Estrada Seeks Estardum, at the 2024 Hollywood Fringe Festival & Elysian Theater.
Wrote, acted, & directed two seasons of Peach Fuzz, a comedy web series about getting sober, pursuing comedy, and dating in LA.
Co-host of Confessions (@confessions.reading), a monthly non-fiction reading series at Bar Henry in Echo Park. (Next one is in October. Date TBA).
Currently teaching writing workshops in Los Angeles. Want to know about the next one? Sign up for my email list below.
